She takes off her hat, letting her ponytail fall and sway in the breeze.]

... When I set out on my journey, I was told to pretend to be a boy. Because enemies wouldn't be able to figure out who I am that way.

I've been treating this place the same way. I don't trust this place, or the reasons we've been brought here.

[he nods, understanding finally flickering across his face.]

I don't blame you. There's a lot here that's highly suspect, and I'd imagine people like me bein' different from what you know only stokes that fire.

[it also shows how much she must've come to trust him, given she'd accused him of murder (which still turns his stomach to think about) a couple of months ago. he's not really sure what to think about that.]

It's because you're a kind person. I don't understand a lot of the differences between what happened in our different homes, but I can tell that you're a good person.

[broceanic]

[he's not crying HE'S NOT CRY ING archie furiously scrubs his face for no reason bc he's definitely not emotional.]

[he nods. of course that wasn't all there was to it.]

My powers... You know some of them. I can hear the hearts and thoughts of Pokemon, and I can heal wounds of Pokemon and people. I can move some small objects just with my mind. And...

When I get angry... My Pokemon and I, our spirits synchronize, and they become much more powerful. My anger becomes their power.

[broceanic]

[he nods, listening, mentally filing all this away. he doesn't want to have to call on her if the situation needs it, but yellow's clearly more than capable.]

Like mega-evolution...

I guess so.

So... I don't like being angry. I don't want to influence my Pokemon with that sort of thing.

[broceanic]

No-one does... has anything here made you angry? Anyone?

[She slowly looks away, and nods.]

Guzma. He says he wants to attack people who get in his way, and he's a cruel person.

[broceanic]

[archie nods-- he'd had a good time with guzma, personally, but he isn't surprised to hear of that.]

Did you have to battle him?

[needsnoballs]

Yes. And we won.

[she doesn't seem terribly happy about that, though?]

[broceanic]

Some people are like that, [he says, shaking his head.] I was like that, before I realised what I was doing was wrong.

[he reaches out to put a hand on her shoulder.]

How are you all feeling after it?

[needsnoballs]

[Her shoulders are tense. She's small, but... She's carried the weight of the world, more than once. And here, she's loosening up, she's relaxing, but... She still doesn't trust it. She feels that any moment now, she'll be called off to defeat another legendary threat from this world. Not to mention the destroyed world below...

(Is this what Lance was talking about, she wonders?)]

I'm glad we won. And... I'll defeat him no matter how many times we have to, to stop him from hurting anyone.

But I wish there was another way.

[broceanic]

[he gives her a squeeze.]

There's another way. You're not alone here, alright? You're not the only one that'll have to deal with him if he does anything.

[needsnoballs]

[She nods...]

I hoped I could talk to his Pokemon, and convince them not to fight, but they were like Lance's.

[her lance's, not the one here!]

They don't care if it's right or wrong... They just want to support him, because he is their Trainer.

[broceanic]

They likely won't change unless he does.

[he shakes his head.]

At least he doesn't appear to be mistreating them. It might take a while, but I'm sure we can get through to him one way or another. Just try to remember it's not all on you.

[guess who has no concept of everything not being on them]

... If it comes to it, can you beat him?

I can't believe I'm saying this, but... if it comes to it, I don't think a Pokémon battle will be the answer.

I'd like that if it was the case, but... Talking to him didn't work.

[what else is there but pokemon battles and pacifistic talking?]

May beat me in a battle when I was about to awaken Kyogre. I still did it. It doesn't always mean what you want it to mean, and it would just put his Pokémon through suffering when there's no centres around to fix 'em up.

[he rubs his chin.]

It just won't be a quick change, is all.
