[so, try as he might, archie is still having a bit of trouble with getting used to and figuring out how to care for his electrode. the thing looks relatively happy and doesn't seem to be having any of the sort of problems archie is, but... maybe isn't good enough for him. he wants perfect for his pokémon, or he'll give it away to someone who can care for it.
yellow has all kanto pokémon, as well as having a kanto fossil pokémon. archie figures... maybe she's from kanto? electrode is kanto (even if his was caught in hoenn, nice logic idiot) so maybe she'll know. or maybe her pokédex will have information on it. he should ask may, too...

i'm no electric type trainer... i'm worried i'm trying to care for him the way i would my water or poison types. i don't really know how to deal with him.

Really? I've never seen much of Electrode before, except when Lt. Surge was using them... I'm glad it doesn't hurt him!

I agree... Gravvy knows Explosion, but I could never bear to make him use it. Even if he trusts me enough to, I would never want to use a move that causes him so much pain!

Probably because it's sort of a natural move for them to use, but... [well, he's already said he doesn't like it. he'd covered this with anabel as well-- it's a risky and selfish strategy. even if the pokémon is okay with it, how could you make them think that destroying themselves was the only way forward? it's the sign of a bad trainer, he thinks.] Mega-evolution is just as risky, but not as self-destructive. There's trust for the Pokémon to use Explosion, then there's trust for it to allow you achieve mega-evolution.
[it's clear he's wildly more in favour of mega-evolution, but even then believes it can be overdone. you don't need to use it for every single battle, even if both trainer and pokémon somehow have the energy to withstand it.
